Monel 400® is a nickel-copper alloy that is popular for high-performance applications. Monel 400® exhibits excellent acid and alkaline resistance, high strength, good ductility, and good thermal conductivity, and is hardened by cold-working. It can be used in application temperatures ranging from subzero to 1,000°F (538°C).
Unique among Monel® alloys, Monel 400® is a “puritan alloy.” It contains nickel and copper content equal to that of the naturally-occurring nickel ore that is found in the Sudbury mines of Ontario, Canada.
