Monel 400®is a popular nickel-copper alloy that is hardened via cold working. It exhibits high strength, excellent resistance to a variety of acidic and alkaline environments, and good ductility and thermal conductivity. Monel 400® is suitable for temperatures ranging from subzero to 1,000°F (538°C).
Monel 400® is unique among the Monel® family of alloys, as it is a “puritan alloy”—that is, it contains the same proportions of nickel and copper as the naturally-occurring nickel ore extracted from the Sudbury mines in Ontario, Canada.
